Selling Your Yacht Privately…

They say: ‘the greatest days of owning a yacht are the day you buy it, and the day you eventually sell it!’

Using Yott's Boats for Sale page, you can now advertise your boat FOR FREE to a huge audience as easily as putting it on the yacht club notice board.

To advertise your boat simply click here or above on 'Boats for Sale' and fill in the form.    We recommend that you include a photograph of your boat - in our experience potential purchasers show more interest in adverts with pictures.

Once you have a buyer...Use an Online Broker for only 1%

In the past there have only really been two options for selling your yacht; either through the local yacht broker or private advertising. Using a yacht broker takes most of the hassle out of selling your boat, however, he generally wants 8-10% of the selling price for his trouble. With private advertising it is often hard to reach a large number of potential buyers, and then you have to complete the paperwork yourself. Now with Yott  you can have the best of both worlds... free advertising to the whole world and a registered broker to do all the paperwork and complete the legalities.

As your chosen Yacht broker, we will do the following:

  • 1. Negotiation - ensuring that both parties are kept informed and advised on all aspects of the sale.
  • 2. Deposits – arrange the signing of the legally binding Agreement of Sale and Purchase, once the price is agreed. Collect the holding deposit, normally 10% of the purchase price, to be kept in the client account
  • 3. Survey - arrange survey and/or sea trial, as required
  • 4. Documentation - check all aspects of the yacht’s documentation to ensure that all is in order, including:
  • • Title of the yacht
  • • Settlement of any outstanding finance
  • • Payment of outstanding bills ie boatyard, marina
  • • Tax status of the boat
  • • EU status
  • 5. Handover - having received cleared funds from the purchaser we will ensure the smooth completion of the sale, boat handover and final settlement.

Fees

1% of purchase price, minimum fee £500 (can be paid by either party or split as agreed)
